The Lake St. Clair Clean Boating Campaign is a partnership between the Anchor Bay Yachting Association (ABYA), the Marine Environmental Education Foundation (MEEF), and the Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) to educate boaters about clean boating practices to protect the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair. We use MEEF's Dockwalkers program to train boaters in everyday clean boating practices. These trained "Dockwalkers" then share what they've learned with their fellow boaters.

Lake St. Clair, the "Heart of the Great Lakes," is the smallest lake in the Great Lakes system. This heart-shaped lake is the connecting waterbody between Lake Huron (via the St. Clair River) and Lake Erie (via the Detroit River). Lake St. Clair is bordered by Michigan, Ontario, and Walpole Island Indian Reservation. The mouth of the St. Clair River in the northeastern portion of the lake is the largest freshwater delta system in the Great Lakes. Clinton River Watershed & Lake St. Clair Map The water quality on the American side of Lake St. Clair is a major contributing factor to our quality of life and recreational interests. An estimated 130,000 registered boats on Lake St. Clair support a $250 million recreational boating industry. Lake St. Clair is 430 squqre miles with an average depth of 10 feet. That's a lot of boats and a lot of people on such a small lake! The Dockwalkers program addresses individual boat pollution such as:
