Last year was special for our canoeing and kayaking community as we were a partner with host cities, Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills to form the first annual Paddlepalooza event on May 30, 2009. The event was a great suc-cess with over 100 paddlers taking on the Clinton River from Auburn Hills to Rochester Hills….just over a seven mile ride. The weather was a little cold but did not deter the partici-pants and onlookers from having a good time. Vendors came to display a variety of outdoor gear and there were prizes and hot dogs at the end for everyone.

We also helped with the Annual Metrowest Steelheaders outing on April 4, 2009 which is always held on the first Saturday in April at Yates Park in Rochester Hills. This event brings in over 100 people throughout the morning to check out the river and do a little fishing.
