MIKELA DEAN

Mikela began with CRWC in the summer of 2023 as the Watershed Ecologist.

She received a B.S. in Biology from The University of Michigan in 2018. Mikela also received a Master of Science from the University of Michigan in 2023, where she specialized in Ecosystem Science and Management (ESM) and Geospatial Data Science (GDS).

As the Watershed Ecologist, Mikela leads CRWC’s ecological, biological, and restoration work, including facilitating project development and implementation through partnership building, data collection, and field research. She leads the ecological restoration team, including supervising the Environmental Scientist and summer intern positions, working closely with volunteers, supporting the scientific needs of CRWC programming, and leading the CRCCP.

In her free time, Mikela enjoys spending time outside—whether she’s hiking, kayaking, or photographing nature.
