AN END-OF-YEAR NOTE FROM CRWC'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends,
From vibrant community centers to untouched green spaces, we treasure the vast network of waterways that flow through our communities, connecting us here at the Clinton River Watershed Council with people across the watershed.
Working together, CRWC, our members, our partners, and our supporters have been able to accomplish so much this year, upholding our mission to protect, enhance, and celebrate the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair.
Thank you for your generosity – it is critical to the work we do. This year, the contributions of people like you have:
Allowed us to educate residents on the importance of green infrastructure and lead installations within the watershed.
Fueled ecological monitoring efforts that will inform decision-making and restoration efforts.
Celebrated the water resources that make our watershed special, highlighting that we are all connected by water.
Read on in our issue of River News to reflect on all of the ways you’ve helped CRWC make a difference in the watershed this fall.
Although we are making progress, the watershed continues to experience challenges, and our mission is crucial in protecting the region’s waterways. A changing climate is exacerbating the effects of stormwater runoff, making it harder for wildlife to thrive, degrading water quality, and increasing the frequency and severity of flooding. Unless we act, and act together, the region’s lakes, rivers, and streams will never be the same.
From the construction of green infrastructure, like rain gardens, to continued restoration of the Clinton River’s tributaries, to invasive species monitoring, the work we’re doing together is making a quantifiable impact on the health of the Clinton River watershed. Please join us and continue to support the work we’re doing in the watershed by making a donation.
Thank you for your continued support of the Clinton River Watershed Council! Your support means so much. Please mail your gift to us at 1115 W Avon Rd. Rochester Hills, MI 48309 or make a contribution online at crwc.org/donate.
Whether you are a long-time donor or new to our work, know that we are grateful for all you do to help us protect, enhance, and celebrate the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Hill
