2016 Healing Our Waters Grant: Freshwater Future

This project was a habitat assessment of Gallagher Creek.

Gallagher Creek is located in Oakland Township and is a tributary to Paint Creek. Until recent years, Gallagher Creek has been supporting populations of native Brook trout. In 2014, fish surveys did not find any of these important fish in the creek. In efforts with the MDNR and local stakeholders, the CRWC received funding in 2016 to collect baseline water quality and habitat data to assist with project development and design.
