WHAT TO BRING
Prepare for the brisk winter weather by dressing for the conditions. You are welcome to dress in regular shoes and your favorite winter coat, but its always a good idea to keep in mind general cold weather best practices such as layering. Layering helps maintain body heat while allowing flexibility to adjust to changing temperatures throughout the hike. Please consider the following clothing items:
Base Layer: Starting with a moisture-wicking base layer keeps sweat away from the skin. Materials like polyester or wool work well.
Insulating Layer: Adding an insulating layer helps trap body heat. Fleece jackets, hoodies, or down vests are excellent choices.
Outer Shell: Topping it off with a waterproof and windproof outer shell can shield against snow or rain. Look for a breathable jacket or coat with sealed seams.
Hat, Gloves, and Scarf: To keep extremities warm with a snug, we recommend wearing a hat, gloves or mittens, and a scarf.
Sturdy Footwear: Winter boots or other shoes with good traction help navigate the snowy trails comfortably.
Ensuring you're properly layered will help you stay warm, dry, and comfortable throughout the hike, allowing you to fully enjoy the beautiful winter scenery
